Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels initiative has become one of South Africa’s most enduring symbols of hope. This year marks a remarkable 20 years of helping individuals and families in crisis.
To celebrate this milestone, Jacaranda FM is once again bringing together listeners, partners and communities at its annual Good Morning Angels Golf Day, taking place on 19 September at Irene Country Club. The event raises funds to support life-changing interventions for South Africans in need.
“What started as a moment of kindness once a week has grown to a powerful movement of change for good. Good Morning Angels is the beating heart of Jacaranda FM and a true reflection of the power of radio to unite for good. Every Wednesday on Breakfast with Martin Bester, Good Morning Angels reminds us of the profound impact that collective kindness can have. It is an honour to celebrate this milestone, together changing lives since 2005,” says Dianne Broodryk, Lead: CSI & Purpose at Jacaranda FM.
For the second consecutive year, BooYaa Golf is proud to sponsor the official shirts and caps for the event, this time co-branded to honour Good Morning Angels’ two-decade legacy.
“Jacaranda FM has a powerful footprint across the country, and Good Morning Angels is one of its most inspiring platforms,” says Ruan Lotz, co-founder of BooYaa Golf. “It’s a privilege for us to play a small part in something that’s touched so many lives.”

The 2025 apparel sponsorship continues BooYaa’s commitment to local partnerships with purpose. In addition to supporting the event through branded gear, BooYaa will again take part in the event, entering teams to compete.
“We are extremely excited and blessed to have BooYaa as our apparel sponsor for a second year in a row. The success of Good Morning Angels is intrinsically linked to the incredible compassion of the Jacaranda FM listeners and the unwavering support of corporates. These 'angels' consistently step up, especially for the Good Morning Angels Golf Day, our only annual fundraiser. BooYaa is therefore part of the legion angels, enabling us to change more lives for good. To have our Golf Day participants dressed in the best is a perfect fit. We promised a bigger and better Golf Day to celebrate 20 years, and that would not have been possible without BooYaa,” adds Broodryk.
Jacaranda FM reaches millions of listeners each week, and the Good Morning Angels Golf Day has become a standout fundraising event on the national calendar. With every swing, donation, and sponsored prize, it builds on a legacy that began in 2005 and continues to change lives 20 years later.
“We believe in the power of sport to bring people together,” says Lotz. “Golf is our business, but community is our brand.”
