WSB Western Province shift focus to Dafabet Warriors clash

Fresh from their victory on the road, World Sports Betting Western Province shifts focus to the fourth round of the CSA T20 Challenge campaign.

The Boys In Blue are set to welcome Dafabet Warriors on Wednesday at World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground.

The game will start at 6pm and will be live on Cricket South Africa (CSA) YouTube page.

After the first match of the campaign was abandoned due to rain and losing their second fixture in Potchefstroom on Friday, Western Province redeemed themselves with a bonus point win over the Momentum Multiply Titans, winning the match with seven wickets in hand on Sunday.

A player who contributed immensely to the match at SuperSport Park was bowler Wesley Bedja who finished with 2/22 and was awarded the Bowler of the Match award.

“It was a massive win for us against a Titans team who started off really nicely in the competition. I think we kept it simple in terms of plans and executed it well for most of the game,” said Bedja.

“This was a massive win for us considering the first game against Boland being rained out and ending up on the losing side of a close game against the Dragons. It gives us the momentum going into Wednesday’s game against the Warriors.”

After the bonus point victory WSB Western Province currently sit in fourth position.

Bedja knows the importance of doing well in front of the Newlands faithful.

“I think it’s important that we build on the momentum from the Titans game and keep to our plans trying to execute them as best as we can,” he said.

“Warriors are a good team; they also haven’t been doing well so far in the competition so we can expect them to come out gun blazing at us.

“Having the fans coming out to support really gives the team a boost so it’s extremely important that we repay them by putting in quality performances and winning at Newlands.”
