"We will back our game plan against Dragons," says Smith

World Sports Betting Western Province wicketkeeper batter Daniel Smith says the team knows what is expected from them in the CSA T20 Challenge play-offs.

The Boys In Blue are set to face the Auto Investments North West Dragons in the Eliminator clash at DP World Wanderers on Wednesday (6pm).

The 22-year-old knocked 57 runs from 33 balls in the Province's 6-wicket win over the Itec Knights on Friday.

"I'm thrilled with my performance, I think the team did really well on Friday. I feel like I haven't really been at my best the last couple of games," said Smith.

"So finally just to get some runs under my belt and obviously going into an important week, I think it gives me a lot of confidence going into this week in the play-offs. I'm really excited about this week and what it holds for us as a team.

Smith believes the team showed a united front against the Knights, which he says will be the key this week in the playoffs.

"I think it's important when you're in the driving seat, it's not to give the other team a sniff and I think we did that very well on Friday night. I think it's just trying to take responsibility," he said.

"You want to win games for your team, and I think the way Eddie (Moore) did it there, he's done it a couple of games now, he's been outstanding this tournament, the way he finished off the game there, and then the way Georgie (George Linde) came in and hit those two mighty blows there was outstanding.

Having lost to the Dragons in the first clash in Potchefstroom, Smith says the side will back their game plan on Wednesday.

"Our game against Goldrush Boland rained out, the Dragons game at JB Marks Oval was sort of our first game of the season, the nerves were all over the show and we were not at our best," he continues.

"We have regrouped well and we are now looking forward to this game, nothing much we are going to do differently, we are just going to back our game plans.

"We have gained so much confidence out of the last two games and hopefully we can come out on top on Wednesday."
