The Dafabet Warriors secured a commanding six-wicket victory over the Hollywoodbets Dolphins in their T20 Challenge clash at the Dafabet St George’s Park on Sunday.
After winning the toss, the hosts chose to field, and it proved to be a wise decision as CJ King (3/18) and Siya Plaatjie (2/24) tore through the Dolphins' top order, reducing the visitors to 68/4 within 10 overs.
Eathan Bosch provided some resistance with a valuable 45 runs before falling to Beyers Swanepoel and the visitors finished on 162/9 after their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing a target of 163, King delivered an all-round performance, contributing 41 runs, while Jean du Plessis anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69*. The pair guided the Warriors to 163/4, sealing the win with four balls to spare.
Meanwhile, the Cape derby between World Sports Betting Western Province and Goldrush Boland at WSB Newlands was abandoned without a ball bowled due to inclement weather in Cape Town.
