World Sports Betting Western Province Women’s captain, Leah Jones, has vowed that the team will give their all this season, aiming to compete fiercely and secure every trophy on offer.

The Girls in Blue have dedicated the entire winter to pre-season training as they gear up for the 2025/26 Hollywoodbets Pro Series, which is set to kick off in October.

The Hollywoodbets Pro20 champions will be aiming to claim both titles this season - the T20 crown and the Hollywoodbets Pro50 trophy, in which they finished as runners-up last season.

“We're determined to win both trophies this season and make it a three-peat in the T20s. So, we're going to come hard, we're going to play hard, we're going to fight hard and with a lot of passion, a lot of entertainment. I said the girls will provide the fans with some entertainment in what we do, so we're going for that,” said Jones.

“But obviously entertainment in a good way, in a way that we can still play good cricket for people to watch which will always boost the mood in the camp.

“Everyone's excited to get going and get the season started. This pre-season has been a good and tough one, a hard-working one and I think everyone's just excited to showcase what they've been working on in the middle when we start our season.”

The 23-year-old, set to lead the team once again for the upcoming season, shared that preparations at the pre-season camp have been progressing smoothly and effectively.

Jones says the team has been focusing heavily on one-on-one drills to sharpen their skills, while also maintaining fitness training alongside.

“Fitness is basically what we've been focusing on in general,” she said. “Obviously leading this side is exciting and I love leading this team, so the fans can expect us to come hard again this season.

She added that supporters, the Newlands Faithful, can expect a hardworking and entertaining performance from the team, promising action that will keep the excitement of cricket alive.

“We are keen to provide entertainment for our supporters and fans must come out to WSB Newlands to watch their favourite team play, win some games and we need the backing from our 12th man, the supporters so that we can do much better when our away teams are here,” concluded Jones.
