Fast action cricket fans in Nelson Mandela Bay are in for a treat this weekend as the Proteas take on India in the highly anticipated Wonder Cement T20 International series.
The match will be played on Sunday at the iconic Dafabet St George’s Park Cricket Stadium, with the action starting at 4pm.
Tickets priced between R110 and R250 are available at Ticketpro and the stadium.
This match marks the second of four T20 encounters in the series, promising an exhilarating atmosphere for cricket enthusiasts.
“There will be plenty of action both on and off the field,” says Leigh Deyzel, St Georges Park Stadium event coordinator.
“We will have a DJ before the match to get fans in the mood for some great cricket. Kiddies can also look forward to face painters, stilt walkers and drummers to welcome fans through the gates.”
Deyzel reminds attendees that bringing alcohol into the stadium is strictly prohibited. However, soft drinks and snacks are allowed if they are in plastic containers; glass and metal cutlery will not be permitted.
For a complete list of prohibited items, fans are encouraged to check the Ticketpro website.
The stadium’s ticket office will be open for sales on Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
Traffic around the stadium will be directed in an anti-clockwise direction on match day, and gates will open at 2pm, giving fans plenty of time to soak in the pre-match festivities.
This series marks the first meeting between the two teams since their nail-biting T20 World Cup Final, where India triumphed over South Africa by just 7 runs.
The series kicks off with the first match at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban on Friday.
Cricket fans can also look forward to the return of international Test cricket to Dafabet St George’s Cricket Stadium from December 5-9, when South Africa faces Sri Lanka. Tickets for the Test match are priced between R60 and R140.
As excitement builds for this weekend’s showdown, fans are urged to secure their tickets early and prepare for an unforgettable day of cricket in Nelson Mandela Bay.
