Following their unbeaten start to the season, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies will take on the SSG Garden Route Badgers at the Chatsworth Oval looking to continue their fine run in the Hollywoodbets Pro Series.

With three rounds of fixtures under their belts, Angelique Taai’s chargers have not lost in either the Pro50 or the Pro20 competitions.

Heading into the weekend, the Dolphins Ladies will be playing a team that they have already played away from home this season. Head coach Taai feels they will be a very different proposition compared to the side they faced earlier in the season.

“They will also have a few Proteas back for them, that can have an impact on the games,” Taai said. “We have done analysis on the opposition but every game is different. The environment and conditions will be different and it’s important that we don't become complacent.

“It’s very important (to do well in our home games) as we are familiar with the conditions and environment. It’s very challenging winning away from home that's why it’s imperative that we collect the points in our own back yard.”

The visiting Badgers will have their Proteas back and the Dolphins will also welcome back their contingent of national squad players. With this squad boost along with a settled squad Taai is excited to see her team play this weekend.

“We are a well-balanced team for this upcoming fixture. We have a very competent seam attack, equally competent spin attack and a very long batting lineup.

“We will have our full complement of Protea players for this weekend but three out of the four will be leaving after the weekend for national duty with the inbound England tour to South Africa.”

With such a strong start to the season, the confidence in the Dolphins team is at an all-time high heading into the weekend. Taai believes that her team have found a good mix of on-field and off-field dynamics.

“We have all come together as a team and played as a unit. We have very high standards for ourselves and that makes everyone to do a bit extra every day to keep up with the team.

“We are guided by our very strong values and positive culture within the team. We are driven by our goals and the fact that we want to win and be the best versions of ourselves that we can be.

“We are playing good cricket, but I still feel that we haven't reach out full potential as yet. There is always room for improvement.”

The Dolphins Ladies and the Badgers will face off at the Chatsworth Oval this weekend with the Hollywoodbets Pro50 clash taking place on Saturday and the Pro20 match on Sunday.
