Cricket South Africa (CSA) is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki received the esteemed Leadership in Sport Business Award from the Sport Industry Awards 2024 hosted in Johannesburg on Tuesday evening.

The Leadership in Sport Business Award is presented to an individual whose bold and decisive leadership has made a substantial difference to South African sport.

This award honours a leader who has made a tangible difference to the positioning and perception of the sport and the brand, someone who has championed diversity and inclusion at all levels.

Since Moseki became permanent CEO in 2022, he has successfully led the organisations turnaround and strategic direction, resulting in an improved financial position with strengthened governance structures.

From a global cricket perspective, Moseki has played an important role in CSA’s successful hosting of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, the inaugural ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2023 and the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2024.

It is under Moseki’s leadership that CSA’s strategic pillars of access and inclusion were fostered through the launch of the Professionalisation of the Domestic Women’s League allowing female players and their support staff an opportunity to focus on cricket as a fulltime career option.

Congratulating Moseki, CSA Board Chairperson, Pearl Maphoshe shares her sentiments: “On behalf of the Board and CSA, we are extremely proud of Pholetsi and congratulate him on this well-deserved accolade.

“His exceptional leadership and dedication to excellence have not only shaped the future of our organisation but have also made a lasting impact on the entire sporting industry.

“Pholetsi’s vision and commitment to repositioning South African cricket globally continues to inspire all of us, and his achievements set a new standard for what is possible when leadership and passion come together."
