Each year, Cricket South Africa (CSA), in partnership with KFC, proudly recognises the passionate individuals who dedicate their time and energy to supporting the 119 926 children who actively engage in the KFC Mini-Cricket programme; a platform that promotes physical activity, social connection and a love for the game.

This commitment is honoured at the annual KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar, where over 200 delegates convene to celebrate a shared purpose that inspires the next generation through the power of cricket.

Taking place this year from 29 June to 2 July, the seminar will shine a spotlight on the 10 090 dedicated volunteer coaches who form the backbone of the Mini-Cricket programme, while also setting the strategic direction for the season ahead.

Building on the foundation laid by last year’s theme, "Building for the Future," this year’s seminar reinforces CSA’s ongoing commitment to growth, inclusivity and excellence in grassroots cricket. It is both a tribute to the achievements of the past and a bold step toward a future shaped by passion, purpose, and partnership.

CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, said: "CSA is once again thrilled to host the KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar, a key highlight in our annual social calendar. This year’s seminar serves not only as a celebration of the season’s successes but also as an opportunity to honour the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to grow the game at grassroots level, inspire young cricketers and ensure that every engagement is both memorable and meaningful for all involved.

“The KFC Mini-Cricket programme is the largest national grassroots sports initiative in the country and without the active involvement and contributions of our volunteer coaches as well as our ongoing partner, KFC, we would not be able to deliver the product we do today. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and commitment.”

KFC Head of Corporate Affairs, Andra Nel, shared her thoughts ahead of the new season stating: “KFC is excited to kick off a new season of KFC Mini-Cricket and to gather at the National Seminar with our dedicated volunteer coaches. This programme is more than just a game—it’s a platform for unlocking potential, nurturing confidence, and creating opportunities for young South Africans to thrive. Together with Cricket South Africa, we remain committed to empowering the leaders of tomorrow, both on the field and in their communities.”
