The Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has congratulated all the nominees set to be honoured at the Annual CSA Pathway and Professional Awards 2025/26, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 16 July under the theme Crowning Glory.
The prestigious gala event, which will once again be broadcast live on SuperSport, recognises the standout performers who excelled during the cricket season from 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2026.
WPCA will once again enjoy strong representation at the awards, with nominees from both its men's and women's professional teams earning recognition for their outstanding performances throughout the season.
Following a remarkable Hollywoodbets Pro Series campaign that saw Western Province Women crowned double champions after winning the Hollywoodbets Pro50 competition and successfully defending their Hollywoodbets Pro20 title, head coach Claire Terblanche has earned a deserved nomination for Hollywoodbets Pro Series Coach of the Year.
Western Province men's fast bowler Nandre Burger and Western Province Women's stars Kayla Reyneke, Marizanne Kapp, Nadine de Klerk and Nosipho Vezi headline the list of WPCA nominees, with several players receiving nominations in multiple categories.
Burger has been nominated for Men's One-Day International Player of the Year and The Best Men's Delivery Fuelled by KFC for his memorable dismissal of Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman during the third ODI between the two nations last November.
Reyneke, who enjoyed a breakthrough season that included her Proteas Women debut and who is currently representing South Africa at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England, has been nominated in three categories: International Women's Newcomer of the Year, Women's T20 International Player of the Year, and SA Fans' Player of the Year.
Experienced all-rounder Kapp has received nominations for Women's One-Day International Player of the Year, SA Women's Player of the Year, and The Best Women's Delivery Fuelled by KFC for her dismissal of England's Amy Jones.
WPCA Chief Executive Officer Corrie van Zyl congratulated all the nominees on their achievements and recognition: “Representing your province and country is one of the proudest achievements for any player. To be nominated for a prestigious CSA Award is recognition that you have excelled for your team and for South Africa - a special honour celebrated across the cricket community. At Western Province Cricket, we are immensely proud to see so many of our players and officials nominated this year. We wish them every success at the Awards but in our eyes, they are already winners.”
