Lions Cricket are delighted to announce the renewal of their partnership with Masana Petroleum Solutions for a minimum of a further three years, extending a highly successful relationship that has already fuelled the Pride’s growth and impact over the past three seasons.
United by shared values of safety, teamwork, achievement, respect, and service excellence, both organisations remain committed to delivering meaningful solutions while uplifting and empowering the communities they serve.
Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright highlighted the significance of the continued partnership, acknowledging the vital role Masana Petroleum Solutions plays in supporting the organisation’s operations and ambitions.
"Masana have been a driving force behind our journey for the past three years and securing their support for at least another three years is both incredibly appreciated and deeply valued, particularly in a challenging economic environment. The scale of the Lions ecosystem – from professional cricket and community programmes to match-day operations and the management of the DP World Wanderers Stadium – simply would not be possible without trusted partners like Masana. Their reliable supply of fuel has helped power our growth into one of South Africa’s most loved sporting brands, enabling us to Dream Big and Be Big in everything we do.”
As the official diesel supply partner to the iconic DP World Wanderers Stadium, Masana plays a vital role in keeping the stadium powered, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply that keeps the lights on and the cricket action alive for thousands of passionate fans.
But the partnership between Masana and the Lions extends far beyond fuelling match-day operations. According to Morena Sithole, the renewed agreement reflects a deeper alignment of values and a shared commitment to community development.
"Our partnership with the Lions is built on more than commercial collaboration - it is rooted in a shared purpose to create meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Together, we are investing in opportunities that empower people, particularly through education and youth development, both on and off the field."
This shared vision has already translated into several impactful community upliftment initiatives. Most notably, Masana and Lions Cricket recently supported the upgrade of the Johannesburg School for Autism, equipping classrooms with desktop computers and interactive smart boards to enhance the learning experience for learners with special needs.
In addition, the partnership has enabled initiatives focused on providing deserving school learners with essential school shoes, bags and uniforms - helping to remove barriers to education and creating opportunities for young people to thrive.
"This partnership is underscored by far more than the donations made; it represents a shared investment in uplifting the communities we serve and creating lasting change for future generations," added Sithole.
Through this renewed partnership, Masana and the DP World Lions continue to demonstrate how sport and business can work together as powerful catalysts for positive social impact. From the fields of play to the communities in which Lions Cricket serves, Masana’s partnership has provided the energy behind countless successes, learnings and growth. The Pride is excited and enthusiastic, not only when reviewing the journey to date, but also when looking at the opportunities that lie in wait as the partnership continues to build on a brighter future together.

Lions Cricket have tremendous pleasure in confirming the sponsorship renewal of much valued partners ENZA Construction for a further five years. This follows a successful five-year partnership in which ENZA has backed the Pride’s cricket community from club cricket, to teams, people and tournaments.
Together, Lions Cricket and ENZA Construction have constructed concrete pitches and nets amongst the communities in which the Pride serves, work that will continue throughout the duration of the renewed partnership with an additional 10 pitches being built over the coming years. In addition, two bursaries known as The ENZA Bursary, valued at R150 000 per annum, will be awarded in the coming months, truly impacting the lives of the deserving recipients.
“We at Lions Cricket are genuinely grateful to walk our journey with the entrepreneurial, innovative and energetic Crowie brothers who founded and continue to lead Enza Construction. This will be a minimum ten-year partnership – a true reflection of ENZA’s care for community and devotion to upliftment, further building upon the sterling work done to date, which excites us tremendously. Big things are building with ENZA Construction so watch this space,” smiles Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright.
Aligned in vision, ENZA Construction CEO Clinton Crowie says: "Our partnership with Lions Cricket reflects Enza Construction's commitment to building more than infrastructure; we are committed to building opportunities, communities and futures. Over the past five years, we have seen the positive impact that sport can have on young people's lives, and we are proud to extend this partnership for a further five years. Through initiatives such as the ENZA Bursary and the development of community cricket facilities, we look forward to creating lasting value and empowering the next generation of talent both on and off the field."
Over and above the company’s association with the DP World Lions Men’s and Women’s teams, ENZA are also the naming rights sponsor of the Lions Cricket ENZA Men’s Premier League, a competition won in previous years by some of Lions Cricket’s top clubs. In addition, ENZA goes above and beyond in their support through their generous donations across multiple community initiatives and campaigns, including the Pink Day One-Day International which the DP World Wanderers hosts every season.
Dedicated to making a genuine impact and living a life of purpose for all those involved in the game, Lions Cricket and ENZA Construction promise a season rich in opportunity and full of promise for tomorrow’s superstars.

Lions Cricket also is thrilled to add even greater value and pride to the City of Gold while creating meaningful opportunities for employment, SMMEs and local economic growth. The exciting three year destination marketing collaboration between Lions Cricket and the Joburg Tourism Company represents a significant step towards unlocking the full potential of sports tourism in Johannesburg.
The strategic partnership will see the alignment of integrated marketing campaigns, travel packages, fan experiences and infrastructure readiness, ensuring Johannesburg continues to position itself as one of Africa's leading sporting destinations.
Leaf-Wright believes the partnership perfectly reflects the Pride's commitment to serving both the game and the city it proudly calls home.
"We are incredibly fortunate to be based at the very heart of the City of Gold, surrounded by passionate and driven people, exceptional resources and enormous potential. When you combine everything Johannesburg has to offer with our iconic home at the DP World Wanderers Stadium, this partnership not only makes perfect sense, but is filled with the potential to impact, empower and inspire – and that's exactly what #ThePrideOfJozi stands for. Together with Joburg Tourism, we will continue to uplift the communities we serve because we know that the fan experience extends far beyond the boundary ropes – cricket is so much more than just a game. We want powerful storytelling, meaningful media engagement, continued investment in infrastructure and visitor readiness, and to continue to create a welcoming, memorable atmosphere ensuring that Johannesburg remains the destination of choice."
The partnership will strengthen both organisations through increased destination and brand awareness, the shared utilisation of world-class facilities including the DP World Wanderers Stadium, enhanced event management capabilities and collaborative marketing initiatives designed to attract greater crowds across multiple sporting and entertainment events in the Province.
Joburg Tourism CEO Thandubuhle Mgudlwa views the collaboration as a strategic tool to leverage prime destination brand exposure through the Lions Cricket’s captive audience.
"Through joint online and offline marketing, Joburg Tourism will enhance Johannesburg’s reputation as a vibrant, world-class destination. We look forward to building on the successes achieved together and to delivering even greater value for the city and its communities - while continuing to foster meaningful connections with local and international audiences.”
The DP World Wanderers Stadium has long been recognised as one of South Africa's premier sporting and events venues, having hosted ICC Cricket World Cup finals, Davis Cup tennis, international music concerts, product launches, weddings, Presidential addresses, the SA20 Final and countless other world-class events.
With South Africa preparing to host the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2027, Johannesburg - and more specifically the DP World Wanderers Stadium - is expected to play a central role in welcoming the world's greatest cricketers and fans. The tournament presents an extraordinary opportunity to showcase the city's warmth and hospitality, generate significant economic impact and deliver unforgettable visitor experiences.
Together, Lions Cricket and the Joburg Tourism Company remain committed to ensuring the DP World Wanderers Stadium, its surrounding precinct and the City of Gold continue to be recognised as destinations of choice - creating memorable, authentic and joyful experiences that inspire visitors to return to Johannesburg and South Africa time and time again.
