Titans and Badgers maintain 100% Pro20 record

The Fidelity Titans and the Garden Route Badgers both secured victories in the latest round of the Hollywoodbets Pro20 Series on Sunday, remaining the only unbeaten sides in the competition after Week 4.

The Titans claimed a comprehensive nine-wicket win over the YesPlay Cobras following an unbeaten 78 off 45 balls (13x4, 1x6) from captain Anneke Bosch in Tshwane. In Oudtshoorn, the Badgers outmuscled the Warriors by five wickets in a low-scoring affair, with key all-rounder Annerie Dercksen returning leading figures of 3/22.

Dercksen followed up her five-wicket haul in Saturday's Hollywoodbets Pro50 encounter with another impressive bowling display at the Recreation Ground, aided once again by Jané Winster (2/17) and Yolandi Potgieter (2/19), as the Badgers restricted the visitors to 92/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Dutch international and Badgers captain Babette de Leede (28) top-scored for the home side in a crucial stand with Courtney Gounden (18) to help the home team reach the target with five wickets in hand and 27 balls to spare.

Aphilile Adonisi (2/12) and Cayleigh Wanckel (2/18) were the pick of the bowlers for the newly-promoted side, albeit in a losing cause.

At St Alban's College, the Titans bounced back from their first Pro Series defeat of the season in this week's Pro50 encounter with a clinical showing in the shorter format against the defending champions.

Disciplined bowling and important wickets at crucial stages of the innings, led by spinner Paulinah Mashishi's superb return of two for 10 in four overs, kept the Cobras at bay on 136/6 after their allotted 20 overs, despite promising knocks from Faye Tunnicliffe (41) and Kayla Reyneke (40*).

In their chase, the Titans were driven forward by an unbeaten half-century from the experienced Bosch. The top-order batter found the boundary on 14 occasions, including one six, while teaming up with Luyanda Nzuza (34) in an opening stand of 105 runs.

Suné Luus (18*) eventually joined Bosch at the crease to clinch victory for the Titans in the 16th over.

The Titans' win leaves them top of the Pro20 table with three victories from three matches, while the Badgers move into second place with two wins from two.
