Boland Cricket clarifies Governance Compliance delay and AGM timeline

Boland Cricket wishes to clarify the circumstances that resulted in the organisation not meeting Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) stipulated deadline for recognition as a Member in Good Standing.

On 3 September 2026, Boland Cricket formally submitted a request to CSA seeking written approval to host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23 September 2026. Under the Members Operational Model Agreement (MOMA), member entities are required to hold their AGMs at least 14 days prior to the CSA AGM. With the CSA AGM scheduled for 26 September 2026, Boland Cricket’s planned AGM date represented a three-day window rather than the required 14 days.

Boland Cricket requested CSA's condonation of this shorter timeline due to two primary factors:

Auditor Rotation: A recent change in external auditors required additional administrative and procedural work, causing a short delay in finalising the audited financial statements.

Statutory Notice Provisions: In compliance with the Companies Act and Boland Cricket’s Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI), the organisation was required to allow a mandatory notice period of at least 15 business days for stakeholders and voting representatives.

Boland Cricket regrets that CSA could not condone the request for an adjusted AGM date. As a result of the strict operational timeline rules, Boland Cricket was unable to meet the deadline for recognition as a Member in Good Standing. We therefore defaulted to meeting our own AGM notice period and informed CSA thereof.

Boland Cricket reassures all stakeholders, members, and partners of its financial integrity and governance standards. The organisation confirms that it received an unqualified audit opinion for the period under review. Furthermore, Boland Cricket has consistently achieved unqualified audit opinions in every financial year since its incorporation as a company in 2015.

Boland Cricket remains fully committed to sound governance, corporate accountability and full compliance with its MOI and CSA standards. Executive leadership continues to engage with key stakeholders to conclude all remaining governance procedures as swiftly as possible.

Meanwhile, Cricket Boland and Cricket South Africa confirm that matches at Boland Park will be played without spectators while the stadium undergoes facility upgrades. As a result, fixtures hosted at Boland Park will not qualify for the “Catch Your Share” competition

linked to the YesPlay Pro20 Cup.

These upgrades are part of a long-term plan to deliver an enhanced fan experience, with improved facilities, accessibility, and engagement opportunities once the venue reopens fully to fans.
