WSB WP ready to shift focus to 4-Day Series

World Sports Betting Western Province will start this week by incorporating the CSA T20 Challenge's confidence into the CSA 4-Day Series.

The Boys In Blue will kickstart the 4-Day Series campaign with an away fixture when the World Sports Betting Newlands based side visit Hollywoodbets Kingsmead to lock horns against Hollywoodbets Dolphins.

The match will start at 9am on Wednesday and will be live on the CSA YouTube page.

Coming off the T20 campaign where Salieg Nackerdien's charges missed out on reaching the final with a loss to the Titans in Qualifier 2.

Western Province captain and bowler Beuran Hendricks says the team is motivated by the T20 performance ahead of the Dolphins clash.

"The preparation has started off very well for us, coming from the T20 competition and going into the four-day series. With the bat and ball, we've just been fine-tuning the patience that's needed in the red ball format.

"With the bat, it's obviously spending time in the middle. And then with the ball, it's making sure that we stay consistent on areas that we need to hone in on,” added Hendricks.

"And then going up to Durban, it's going to be a really exciting task for us."

Province has had a good run in the format last season after missing out in the series final against the DP World Lions.

Hendricks praised the team after giving it all despite missing key players to the national set up.

"Obviously, we draw a lot of confidence from getting to the semi-final in the T20 format with most of our core on national duty. It’s the case now with the start of the 4-Day series but it also gives our depth opportunities to showcase their skills in the format," adds Hendricks.

"With us being in the final last year, we really want to make sure that we start on a good note against the Dolphins. So, yeah, it will be a really exciting week for us."

With the schedule coming thick and fast after finishing the CSA T20 Challenge on Friday Hendricks added: "There’s been some time constraints from finishing the T20’s on Friday to building the load needed for 4-Day cricket but the guys are ready and really excited about the opportunity to play against the Dolphins."
