The Fidelity ADT Lions will be at home this Friday night as they take on the Novavit Griffons from Welkom in the Carling Currie Cup. Kick-off at Emirates Airline Park is at 5.15pm.
Already assured of a home semi-final, the Joburg side will be full of confidence after overcoming the Vodacom Bulls last week to move to the top spot. Head coach Mziwakhe Nkosi has reverted to his tried and tested line-up, after opportunity was given to the bulk of the United Rugby Championship squad in Pretoria last week in preparation for the international club season.
Regular skipper Jaco Visagie is back to lead the side, with Kade Wolhuter and Ruhan Straeuli returning to full fitness for this Round 10 encounter. Tapiwa Mafura runs out for his 50th appearance in the Currie Cup across all teams.
Nkosi said: “We’re happy with the momentum we’re taking into this fixture and happy to be at home again after two weeks on the road. We’ve worked hard in the season to put ourselves in this position we find ourselves and would dearly love to finish top of the pile at the end of the regular season.
"Tomorrow becomes important as we need a win to achieve our objective and then put in a solid performance to take good momentum into next week’s semi-final. We are determined to operate and achieve those goals.”
