Tuesday saw the launch of the exciting partnership between the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre (WSMC), Lions Cricket and training enterprise MediCoach.
Set to pack more punch into the Lions Pride, the partnership is a significant step forward in creating the Lions Athletic Monitoring System (L-AMS). The agreement will empower the Lions amateur cricketers and more especially their governing board the Central Gauteng Lions an innovative platform to monitor players from the Lions Cricket Women’s and Men’s Academy teams and the Lions Cricket Under-19 teams (men and women).
Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright comments that knowledge is key in every players journey to their success: “The pairing of WSMC and MediCoach will leave no stone unturned when it comes to every player in our eco-system. Director of the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre, Craig Govender says: “With MediCoach, we can now build our own data driven platform and house data accordingly, which will incentivize our medical practitioners at WSMC, who do the hard work of inputting data, to produce post graduate qualifications, in their respective fields of Physiotherapy, Sports Science, Biokinetics, Sport Medicine and Psychology. This Injury Surveillance platform is a state-of-the-art, cloud-based software system tailored to capture, process, communicate, and analyze vital data related to player health and performance. It is designed to support sports teams at all levels, from amateur to professional, providing a holistic approach to injury prevention and management.”
