Round 4 of the Fantasy Rugby Championship 2025 delivered another thrilling weekend of rugby - and some huge fantasy scores. Rising above the competition was Clarence Grove from South Africa, who took the top spot with his team Grove8, scoring an impressive 669 points.

Clarence edged out Oosthuizen in second place and Matt H in third. A big part of his success came down to a bold captaincy choice: Damian Willemse, who racked up a remarkable 122 points as captain.

When asked about his tactics for Round 4, Clarence revealed a clear and considered approach.

“Yes I did use specific tactics. I looked at players’ pre-performance stats and what impact they will have on the game.”

It’s this level of preparation that helped him build a winning team.

Looking ahead to Round 5 Clarence was cautious about early predictions but shared a few insights.

“I first need to look at each team’s starting line ups but I think the All Blacks will do much better against Australia and South Africa will be even more competitive against Argentina.”

With line-ups playing a critical role, his words are a reminder to all managers to keep a close eye on final selections before locking in their squads.

When asked Clarence how he sees the rest of the tournament playing out. His take was both tactical and passionate.

“The Aussies will come out with mixed tactics for the All Blacks but the All Blacks are going to make this one personal. South Africa will want to keep the hunger but Los Pumas will try to manipulate the structure play at rucks and kicking game. It will be fascinating!”

Fans will certainly agree the Rugby Championship still has plenty of drama ahead and there’s still plenty of fantasy points up for grabs as a result!

Perhaps most inspiring of all is Clarence’s plan for his Round 4 prize.

“I am currently helping develop the women’s rugby game in rural areas in South Africa. This prize will act as funding and provide them with a warm meal or I will try to purchase rugby jerseys that cost me R18 500 in South African money.”

A true champion on and off the field, Clarence is using his success to grow the game at grassroots level.

A huge congratulations to Clarence Grove on his Round 4 victory. His mix of smart analysis, bold selections and passion for the sport (and its community) make him a worthy winner.

Think you can emulate Clarence in Round 5? There’s still time to sign up and compete for Round prizes in Rounds 5 and 6.
