The 2025 Telkom Netball League (TNL) has officially concluded following a showstopping final weekend at the Durban ICC, closing off a powerful campaign that began in April and delivered months of elite competition, rising stars and inspiring moments on and off the court.

This year’s edition once again lived up to its vision of developing athletes “From the First Pass to Crown”, offering a competitive platform for netballers across two divisions to showcase their talent across two host cities, Sun City and Durban. Over the course of the season, the League proved to be a true celebration of skill, resilience and the growing footprint of South African netball.

Backed by title sponsor Telkom, the 2025 TNL campaign underscored the power of strategic sponsorship in advancing women’s sport. Telkom’s support went beyond branding, enabling consistent League operations, high-quality broadcasts and team development across both divisions. Under the rallying theme “Possible Begins Here,” the partnership reinforced the League’s role as a launchpad for the country’s future netball greats, highlighting Telkom’s continued investment in sport as a vehicle for opportunity and transformation.

Kingdom Stars have officially secured their place in Division 1 of the 2025 Telkom Netball League after a hard-fought victory in the promotion-relegation play-off against Limpopo Baobabs. After winning the Division 2 title for the second consecutive year, the Stars were determined not to let history repeat itself, following last year’s narrow loss to the same opponents.

In a gripping 2025 Telkom Netball League Division 1 final, the Gauteng Golden Fireballs dethroned defending champions Free State Crinums to claim the prestigious title. From the outset, the Fireballs displayed determination and tactical precision, unsettling the Crinums' usually composed style of play. The Crinums, known for their resilience, fought hard to regain momentum but were met with a relentless Fireballs side that refused to back down. It was a statement performance from the Gauteng outfit, who rose to the occasion and delivered a championship-winning display on the league’s biggest stage.

As the champions lift the trophy and the 2025 season comes to a close, the momentum carries forward. Next up, Netball South Africa will head to Australia in October for an international tour that will further test and showcase the strength of local talent on a global stage.

The 2025 TNL was not just a tournament, it was a movement, a platform and a promise of what lies ahead for netball in South Africa.
