Swimming South Africa and Bombela Concession Company unveil High-Performance Roadmap to Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032

Swimming South Africa, in partnership with Bombela Concession Company, on Tuesday presented its High-Performance Roadmap as the federation prepares for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032.

As South Africa’s leading podium-performing federation, Swimming South Africa continues to build on its legacy of excellence. While the nation is rich with athletic talent and proven ability on the regional, continental, and global stage, the federation recognises that sustainable success depends on strengthened resources and infrastructure.

“The challenge we face is not a lack of talent-our athletes have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to shine. What we require are the resources and facilities to sustain and elevate that excellence,” said Alan A. Fritz, President of Swimming South Africa.

Looking ahead, Swimming South Africa’s High-Performance strategy is centred on:

• Increasing the number of athletes qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games and beyond.

• Building a national team ecosystem that empowers athletes, coaches and management to excel.

• Improving performance times and expanding the qualifying pool of athletes.

• Securing the financial and infrastructural support necessary to sustain success.

The federation has also committed to engaging municipalities, the military, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, the National Lotteries Commission and private partners to establish world-class facilities that can anchor a sustainable High-Performance ecosystem.
