A rusty looking Springbok side had enough power in the scrum and speed out wide to beat Scotland by 17 points at Murrayfield on Sunday evening.
The visitors overcame a wonky line-out and a brutal case of butterfingers to win comfortably on the scoreboard but it was far from comfortable on the field.
Winger Makazole Mapimpi scored a brace out wide while tighthead prop Thomas du Toit rumbled his way to a five-pointer in the first half before the boot of Handre Pollard (three conversions and two penalties) put them out of sight against a Scotland side that huffed and puffed but could not break through the frantic Bok defence,
The home side's points all came from the boot of flyhalf Finn Russell before replacement No 8 Jasper Wiese dotted down with the clock in the red after the Bomb Squad had exploded into action.
The Boks will need to be better against England on Saturday.
More to come later.
