Two of South Africa’s hottest music acts, Shimza and Will Linley, have been confirmed as the headline entertainment for the Betway SA20 Season 4 opening match and the sold-out Final.
Internationally acclaimed Shimza will set the tone for the Boxing Day clash between MI Cape Town and Durban’s Super Giants on 26 December, lighting up the Newlands crowd with his signature dance hits and high-energy performance on the loop™ stage, brought to you by rain.
General access tickets for the opening match are almost sold-out online. Limited R650 tickets remain in President’s Pavilion Level 5 Lounge and include a beer or soft drink and a light meal. Fans can kick-start the Boxing Day festivities with a blend of world-class cricket, electrifying live music and an unmatched stadium experience at one of the world’s most iconic grounds. Hospitality tickets are also still available for the Season Opener, please contact MICT.Hospitality@miglobalcricket.com directly to book.
Closing out the season in true style, Will Linley will lead the halftime show at the sold-out Betway SA20 Final on 25 January at Newlands. The chart-topping pop sensation will deliver his feel-good hits and vibes to celebrate the crowning of the Season 4 Champions. General access tickets have sold out, but fans can still be part of the action with limited hospitality packages available at sa20.mobi/HospitalityPackages.
Betway SA20 League Commissioner Graeme Smith says Season 4 will be one for the books: “As a proudly South African brand, we’re thrilled to have some of the country’s leading musicians headlining the entertainment at our opening match and the Final. Each season of Betway SA20 has continued to raise the bar - both on and off the field. The cricket has been world-class, the stadiums electric and South Africans have truly embraced the League as their summer home. As we enter Season 4, the League’s popularity has reached remarkable heights, reflected by the Final selling out in record time. We’re proud to have built an identity and experience that fans connect with, and an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome."
“Betway SA20 is where cricket and entertainment come together, the energy starts in the stands and I can’t wait to be a part of it,” Shimza said. “Bringing my sound to this space is an incredible opportunity to amplify the excitement and create a stadium experience like no other. Fans can expect nothing but vibes on vibes when I hit the stage.”
“I’ve always loved the atmosphere of South African sport, it’s full of heart and passion,” Will Linley said. “Being part of Betway SA20 and performing for fans from all walks of life is such a privilege. I can’t wait to bring the music, the energy and the good vibes to a sold-out Newlands.”
With less than 50 days to go until the opening match, Betway SA20 is turning up the volume this summer with the loop™ stage, brought to you by rain, the League’s Official 5G Partner.
The device is a new way to connect from the 5G network and acts as a stereo speaker that gives you access to an unlimited music selection and android apps. The League’s entertainment stage is a hive of activity and the centre of matchday activities, making the partnership with rain the perfect collaboration.
To set the tone on the way to the stadium and to keep the energy high after the final ball, Betway SA20 and rain’s loop™ have launched a playlist for season 4 on Spotify today.
