After 540 days without an individual victory, Jon Rahm emerged victorious at HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong to earn his third LIV Golf win and first since LIV Golf Chicago in 2024.
Rahm carded rounds of 66-62-65-64 to finish at 23 under, three strokes ahead of Thomas Detry and four strokes ahead of Thomas Pieters. It was a convincing final round for the Spaniard, who made four birdies and one bogey on both the front and back nine to hold off the 4Aces GC's Belgian duo.
4Aces GC won the team trophy after finishing third in the first two events of 2026.
"I played really good all day,” said Rahm, the reigning back-to-back LIV Golf Individual Champion. “Even though I shot 6-under, what could have been with quite a few short putts missed and an errant shot on 18. It was incredible. But I just tried to stay very patient and committed to each shot, knowing that I was doing everything right and things were going to happen. I think that was the theme pretty much every round this week.”
Detry, who was able to play in the event thanks to Rahm’s help, shot rounds of 64-63-66-67 to finish runner-up after limited practice amidst travel issues early in the week.
Pieters' third-place finish marks his first podium finish on LIV Golf. The 34-year-old fired rounds of 68-66-61-66 to finish at 19-under.
Rahm wasn’t the only one to snap a long winless streak, as the once dominant 4Aces GC rallied to earn their first team victory since LIV Golf London in 2023. The Aces were led by Detry and Pieters but captain Dustin Johnson (T24) chipped in with a 5-under 65 on Sunday and LIV Golf Adelaide winner Anthony Kim (T31) contributed a 4-under 66 to the effort.
“It feels good,” Johnson said. “Obviously, winning as a team is huge. Obviously finished third the first couple weeks, which are good showings. Winning this week, yeah, it's big and obviously it has been a while since we've won. So yeah, it feels really good.”
Harold Varner III, who played in the final group alongside Rahm and Detry, got off to a hot start making birdies on two of his first three holes but couldn’t keep up with the scorching hot Rahm for the remainder of the day. Varner finished fourth, his best finish since LIV Golf Jeddah in 2023.
RangeGoats GC's Matthew Wolff finished fifth, which was his first top-5 finish since LIV Golf Miami in 2024. After the round, Wolff expressed encouragement with the overall state of his game.
“Golf is a crazy game," Wolff said. "I felt like last year I struggled a lot, and this year feels a little bit better. Just got to keep staying on top of things. But I was pretty happy with how I played this week.”
