There will be plenty of action on and off the field on Saturday at the Dafabet St George's Park Cricket Stadium when the Dafabet Warriors fight for a place in the final four in the last home game of the CSA T20 Challenge before the qualifiers and finals.
They are currently fourth on the log, with two wins and three losses - the latest being to Goldrush Boland on Wednesday, October 16.
“Of course, we are pretty disappointed we did not end up on the right side of the result. That is two games we have lost by a narrow margin during this campaign,” says coach Robin Peterson.
“But I thought the batting group did ok. It is never easy chasing totals above 150 at Paarl, and it was an achievement for our young batting line-up to end 11 short.
“They learned a lot and I am happy with that chase.
“With the ball, we were wide of the mark in terms of what we tried to achieve.
“On Saturday there is a lot to play for against the Titans, to put it right and get ourselves in that semi-final spot.
“I think the group has grown nicely over the campaign and they are so excited to put things right in front of the home crowd at St George’s Park.”
Starting at 6pm on Saturday afternoon the Warriors play the Momentum Multiply Titans, who are third on the log.
The cricket action starts at 1pm, with Woodridge playing Daniel Pienaar in a T20 format.
The gates open at 12pm and the entry ticket covers both games.
Supporters will also stand the chance of winning R1 500 in three lucky draw attendance prizes.
The prize will be doubled if they are dressed up in their Warrior colours.
Students studying at an accredited tertiary institution stand to win R100 000 in fees just by attending the match. Terms and conditions apply.
