The DP World Lions will host the 2025/26 1-Day Cup final at the DP World Wanderers on Sunday at 10am. This, after securing a 34-run victory over Goldrush Boland to finish top of the standings on Saturday.

An unbeaten 91 off 78 balls from Delano Potgieter guided the Lions to a competitive total of 242/7 in their allotted 50 overs, supported by valuable contributions throughout the batting line-up.

Despite a spirited effort from the hosts, including Yves Kamanzi’s four-wicket haul and half-centuries from Gavin Kaplan (72) and Jhedli van Briesies (55), Boland were unable to contain the visitors in Paarl.

The Lions’ bowlers then combined effectively to dismiss Boland for 208, with Reeza Hendricks leading the way with 3/33, while Nqaba Peter and Bjorn Fortuin claimed two wickets apiece.

Meanwhile in Gqeberha, the Dafabet Warriors fell just short of claiming top spot, despite securing a five-wicket victory over the Moothee Ram Tuskers earlier on Saturday.

Their chances depended on the Lions' result going their way but the Gqeberha-based side finished second on the log, just one point behind the Lions.

Leading wicket-taker Gideon Peters starred with the ball, claiming 4/32 to help bowl the Tuskers out for 197.

In reply, Sinethemba Qeshile’s unbeaten 55, alongside Modiri Litheko’s 49 and Patrick Kruger (34*) ensured the Warriors chased down the target comfortably, reaching 200 in under 36 overs.

The Warriors will now host Qualifier 1 against Momentum Multiply Titans at the Dafabet St George’s Park on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the Titans entered their final fixture against the NWU North West Dragons needing a win to secure their place in the qualifier and duly delivered with a commanding eight-wicket victory via the DLS method in a rain-affected encounter at SuperSport Park.

Bryce Parsons struck his maiden List A century to guide the Hollywoodbets Dolphins to a one-wicket win over WSB Western Province at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium on Sunday.

Western Province were bowled out for 235 after a disrupted start. Jon-Jon Smuts made the early breakthrough in the fourth over, bowling Sinalo Gobeni for one to leave the visitors five for one. Bayanda Majola then had Pillay caught behind for 10 and Smuts struck again as Province slipped to 25/3.

Kyle Verreynne and Daniel Smith rebuilt, taking the total to 50 in the 15th over. Smith’s innings of 39 ended when he was brilliantly caught on the long-on boundary by Romashan Pillay off Parsons. Parsons struck again with the next delivery, trapping Juan James lbw for a duck to leave Province 110/5.

Verreynne continued to anchor the innings, reaching his century off 119 balls. He shared a 99-run partnership with Oliver Whitehead, who made 54 before being caught at long-on by Parsons off Tristan Luus. Luus also removed Mihali Mpongwana, caught by Semal Pillay for eight.

Verreynne was eventually dismissed for 104, well caught at deep square leg by Romashan Pillay off Majola. Majola then had Dane Paterson caught for a duck and the innings ended with Mbulelo Dube caught at third man for a duck as Province were bowled out for 235.

Majola finished with 4/47, while Smuts (2/25), Luus (2/48) and Parsons (2 /48) shared the remaining wickets.

The Dolphins’ reply got off to a difficult start. Semal Pillay was trapped lbw in the second over by James, Smuts was caught at point for four and Marques Ackerman was caught attempting a sweep for 13 as the hosts slipped to 37 for three.

Parsons led the recovery, reaching his half-century off 50 balls with nine fours. He added 77 with Tshepang Dithole, who was run out for 35 and also shared a stand with Pillay, who made 27 before chipping a catch to mid-off.

Parsons brought up his century off 113 balls and went on to score 105 off 121 deliveries, striking 15 fours, before he was dismissed with the Dolphins 196/6.

The chase tightened late on. Gomolemo Phiri was caught behind for five, Hanu Viljoen was caught at mid-on for 15 and with four runs required, Luus was caught off the bowling of Josh Breed as the Dolphins slipped to 232 for nine.

The scores were tied with one wicket in hand as Majola struck a boundary down the ground to secure a one-wicket victory for the Dolphins.
