Kaneez Catering takes Tuskers partnership to the next level

The Tuskers have secured a major boost ahead of their 2026 Pro20 campaign with prominent Pietermaritzburg-based business Kaneez Catering stepping up its long-standing support to become the team’s naming-rights partner.

The professional team will now be known as the Kaneez Tuskers, marking a significant new chapter in the relationship between one of Pietermaritzburg’s established businesses and the city’s professional cricket team.

The partnership is particularly significant as Kaneez Catering has been an associate sponsor of the Tuskers for several years, and its decision to increase its investment represents a strong vote of confidence in the direction of KZN Inland Cricket Union and the Tuskers.

KZN Inland Cricket Union Chief Executive Officer Jason Sathiaseelan welcomed the partnership, saying the involvement of local businesses was vital to the continued growth of professional cricket in the region.

“We are extremely grateful to Kaneez Catering for their continued support and for taking their partnership with the Tuskers to the next level. It is fantastic to see a local business investing in and getting behind a professional team that represents Pietermaritzburg and the

wider KwaZulu-Natal Inland region,” said Sathiaseelan.

“Kaneez Catering has supported the Tuskers as an associate sponsor for a number of years, and this elevation of the partnership reaffirms their commitment to the team, KZN Inland Cricket Union and the development of cricket in our region.”

Kaneez Catering Director, Goolam Fakey, said the company was proud to strengthen its association with the Tuskers and KZN Inland Cricket Union.

The timing of the partnership comes as the Tuskers prepare for an exciting new chapter in their professional campaign, with the revamped Pro20 competition bringing some of the country's leading Division 1 teams to Pietermaritzburg.

The Kaneez Tuskers will open their home Pro20 campaign against Boland at the historic Pietermaritzburg Oval on Sunday, 4 October with the match starting at 1pm.

For KZN Inland Cricket Union, the partnership is another important step in building a sustainable professional sporting brand while strengthening the connection between the Tuskers, local businesses and the community they represent.
