Hollick takes one-shot lead into final round of FNB Eswatini Challenge

Michael Hollick signed for an impressive second round of 64 on Friday to take the overall lead on 12-under-par heading into the final day of the FNB Eswatini Challenge.

Hollick, who ended the 2024/2025 season with his third victory on the Sunshine Tour, had an interesting round of golf, that included two eagles, six birdies and two dropped shots.

“Today was very solid. I drove the ball well and it gave me a lot of opportunities, especially on the par-fives. Tomorrow will be same story – trying to get the ball in the fairway. You can’t really overpower this golf course. It requires a lot of tactics. We will be making some small adjustments but will be going guns blazing again tomorrow,” Hollick said.

One stroke further back on 11-under-par is the duo of South Africa’s Pieter Moolman (67) and Germany’s Allen John (66).

Moolman was more than happy with his round as a follow up to his opening 66.

“I’m very happy with the second round. It felt very similar to the first round – very clean with small mistakes here and there but that is part of golf. My game is still a bit rusty after the long time we had off,” Moolman said.

With three titles already on the Tour, Moolman is well placed heading into the final round as he eyes a fourth victory.

“My strategy for the final round is to just stay in the moment and give myself opportunities. Hopefully it’s enough to take my fourth win,” Moolman said.

Jake Redman is only two shots of the lead on 10-under-par after a brilliant nine-under-par 63 in the second round.
