Citing complaint – Cameron Hanekom (Vodacom Bulls)
EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Vodacom Bulls No 8, Cameron Hanekom, arising from his club’s quarter-final against Northampton Saints at the cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday.
Hanekom is alleged to have tackled the Northampton Saints centre, Fraser Dingwall (No 12), in a dangerous manner in the 49th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.18.
The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Stuart Morgan-Scott (Wales).
Law 9.18 A player must not lift an opponent off the ground and drop or drive that player so that their head and/or upper body make contact with the ground.
Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.18 carries the following sanction entry points - Low End: six weeks; Mid-range: 10 weeks; Top end: 14 to 52 weeks.
Pamela Woodman (Scotland), Chair, Marcello d’Orey (Portugal) and Bogdan Zebega (Romania) have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference on Wednesday.

Citing complaint – Tom Botha (Ospreys)
EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Ospreys prop, Tom Botha (No 3), arising from his club’s quarter-final against Gloucester Rugby at Kingsholm on Friday.
Botha is alleged to have tackled the Gloucester Rugby centre, Seb Atkinson (No 12) in a dangerous manner in the 12th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.13.
The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Mihai Irimia (Romania).
Law 9.13 A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously.
Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.13 carries the following sanction entry points - Low End: two weeks; Mid-range: six weeks; Top end: 10 to 52 weeks.
Jennifer Donovan (Ireland), Chair, Donal Courtney (Ireland), and Martyn Wood (England) have been appointed have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place by video conference on Wednesday.
Citing complaint – Darragh Murray (Connacht Rugby)
EPCR has received a citing complaint against the Connacht Rugby second row, Darragh Murray (No 5), arising from his club’s quarter-final against Benetton Rugby at Stadio di Monigo on Sunday.
Murray is alleged to have tackled the Benetton Rugby wing, Ignacio Mendy (No 14), in a dangerous manner in the 5th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.13.
The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, John Byett (England).
Law 9.13 A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously.
Under World Rugby’s Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.13 carries the following sanction entry points - Low End: two weeks; Mid-range: six weeks; Top end: 10 to 52 weeks.
The case will be heard by an independent Judicial Officer, Gareth Graham (England), on a papers only basis as soon as practicable.
