Free State Rugby is thrilled about this weekend’s sold-out Test match between the Springboks and Portugal. It’s fantastic that all the tickets have been sold out and they look forward to an enjoyable day at Toyota Stadium.
This event is particularly historic as it marks the first time South Africa and Portugal will face each other and it is the first time a female referee will officiate a Springbok Test match.
The staff is working diligently working to prepare the stadium to welcome 42 000 spectators. Gates will open at 12pm and fans can look forward to performance by artists such as Heuwels Fantasties, Biggy and Van Pletzen at the Castle gig-rig behind the main pavilion. Local artists Daniel Wesley and Francois Bouwer will perform at the Castle Deck.
There will be 23 different food stalls and plenty of cold refreshments to serve everyone. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.
The streets that will be closed on Saturday are
Att Horak Avenue from First Avenue to Parfitt.
Betogers Road from Park Road to Att Horak Avenue.
Zola Budd Street from Kings Way to Att Horak Avenue.
Kings Way from Parfitt to the Castle Deck.
Unfortunately, fans are not allowed to braai on the sidewalks of the closed streets around the stadium as it poses a serious fire and health hazard.
Park & Ride facilities are available from Dr Bohmer to Toyota Stadium. Those interested can contact Kallie Viljoen at 084 770 1444 to reserve a spot.
Please visit the official Cheetahs website for more information at www.cheetahs.rugby
Only tickets purchased at the ticket office in Toyota Stadium or online at www.ticketpros.co.za will be granted access at the gates.
