Cricket South Africa (CSA) is set to celebrate an unforgettable year of cricket at the Annual CSA Pathway and Professional Awards 2025/26, to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 16 July under the theme, Crowning Glory.
The gala event, which will once again be broadcast live on SuperSport, will honour the standout performers who defined the cricket season spanning 1 May 2025 - 30 April 2026.
It was a historic year for South African cricket on the global stage. The period was headlined by the Proteas Men’s historic triumph at Lord’s on 14 June 2025, where they were crowned ICC World Test Championship (WTC) winners. Meanwhile, the Proteas Women continued to assert their dominance by reaching a third consecutive ICC final at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 in India.
South Africa’s leading men’s and women’s cricketers will be recognised for their achievements as they go head-to-head in several categories across all formats.
In contention for the coveted Men’s Player of the Year are Corbin Bosch, Aiden Markram, Keshav Maharaj and Lungi Ngidi. In the women’s category, Nadine de Klerk, Marizanne Kapp, Sune Luus, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Laura Wolvaardt have been shortlisted.
The Professional Awards will also recognise players and coaches across the domestic game, along with those who officiate the game.
This year sees the introduction of a new judging panel comprising world-renowned umpire Lauren Agenbag, esteemed sports journalists Stuart Hess and Tinus van Staden, Proteas Men’s legend Vernon Philander, SABC broadcaster Hussein Manack and SuperSport presenter Philisande Sixabe.
The celebrations will start early in the day with the Pathway Awards, which continue to honour young aspiring cricketers and dedicated individuals driving grassroots development from KFC Mini-Cricket to senior age-group level. The ceremony will be streamed live via the CSA app.
CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki commented: “Following a truly remarkable season for South African cricket, the CSA Pathway and Professional Awards provide us with an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate excellence across every level of the game.
“From the historic ICC World Test Championship triumph at Lord’s Cricket Ground to the Proteas Women reaching a third consecutive ICC World Cup final, our national teams have once again shown the strength, resilience and pride of South African cricket on the global stage.
“These achievements are made possible by the collective effort of players, coaches, match officials and our broader cricket community across the pathway.
“The ‘Crowning Glory’ theme is a fitting tribute to a season defined by outstanding performances, and we look forward to honouring those who have made this year unforgettable.”
Fans will also be able to join in the celebrations through a range of live broadcast offerings on the day.
The CSA Awards red carpet arrivals will be streamed live on the CSA App from 5.45pm to 6.30pm, before the main Professional Awards ceremony is broadcast live on SuperSport Channel 206 from 8pm.
