South African lifestyle golf apparel brand BooYaa Golf has added another distinctive voice to its growing ambassador family, signing professional deaf golfer Allen John as a new brand ambassador.

Based in Germany, John brings international credibility, serious competitive pedigree and a personal story that aligns closely with BooYaa’s own brand energy. He is a multiple Deaflympics champion and former World Deaf Golf Champion but his story is not only about medals. It is about presence, purpose and showing that difference can be a strength rather than something to hide.

“Winning three Deaflympics was an absolute honour because representing your country at the highest level is always something very special,” says John. “It taught me that there is much more to the game than just winning. It is about setting an example for the next generation as well as getting through adversities in life and on the golf course.”

For BooYaa, the partnership adds a powerful international dimension as the brand continues to grow across Europe. For John, the connection is rooted in something more instinctive than a typical apparel deal.

“BooYaa is a relatively young company but they are different from other apparel companies because they look way cooler,” he says. “They are also loud and disruptive and that is actually what I wanted to be part of. Especially with my background story, I am also different and I think this is the perfect fit.”

In a sport that often leans conservative, BooYaa has built its identity around bold design, premium performance and a refusal to blend in. John brings that same energy to the course, though his experience of the game is shaped in ways many golfers may never have considered.

“I experience the game a lot more intensely in terms of sensory feedback rather than visual feedback,” he explains. “This means that every shot is feel-based. I have a different sense of feel because it is more intense due to the lack of hearing.”

At the elite level, golf is a game of repetition, pressure and small margins. John believes his years of competition have helped him stay composed when the moment gets bigger.

“My experience over the years gives me a little advantage because I have already been in most situations. But no matter how experienced you are, it is always exciting to be in those pressure situations and give your absolute best.”

His role with BooYaa also carries a wider message. John hopes his visibility can help younger athletes, especially deaf athletes, embrace who they are rather than hide it.

“I definitely try to be a role model for other deaf athletes around the globe. Hopefully, others become aware of it and are not afraid to show their disability or hide behind it. Wear it proudly and be strong.”

With BooYaa expanding in Europe, John sees clear potential to help the brand grow in Germany and beyond.

“I am very excited to see what I can do to help grow the brand in Europe and especially in Germany,” he says. “I believe there is time for a new player in the market and hopefully I can help show people how cool BooYaa clothes look and start a new trend.”

Looking ahead, his ambitions remain firmly competitive.

“I am chasing my first win on the Sunshine Tour and hopefully a promotion to the next level along the way,” says John. “With BooYaa behind me, this could be a great success story.”

For BooYaa, that is exactly the kind of story worth backing: different, driven and impossible to ignore.
