Most people experience BooYaa Golf, South Africa’s premier golf apparel brand, out on the course, in the clubhouse, or scrolling through a fresh product drop online. What they rarely see is the quiet engine that keeps everything moving behind the scenes. Every shirt shipped, every size curve maintained, and every order packed correctly begins in the BooYaa warehouse, where precision and teamwork matter just as much as style.

At the centre of that operation is Kavin Molebatsi, Warehouse Manager at BooYaa Golf, whose role combines organisation, problem-solving, and a sharp eye for detail.

“As the warehouse manager, the role is challenging in a good way,” says Molebatsi. “It is interesting and fun but it also sharpens the mind because you need to pay attention to every detail.”

A typical day starts early and with structure. The first task is to review incoming orders and check for any changes that may affect packing or fulfilment. From there, the focus shifts to the physical space of the warehouse itself, where the shelves are restocked, sizes are checked, and garments are organised by their correct ranges and styles.

The goal is critical. Everything must be exactly where it should be.

“When colleagues come into the warehouse, they must immediately know where to find what they need. That is why organisation and clear labelling are so important. If everything is in the right place, the whole operation flows smoothly.”

Cleanliness and structure form the backbone of the warehouse process. Orders are picked, double-checked, packed carefully and labelled with the correct references before shipping. Some orders move straight through the system, while others require branding before dispatch. Online store collections must also be separated and prepared.

It is a system built on discipline, but like any fast-growing brand, BooYaa also faces unexpected challenges.

“One of the biggest challenges is when shipments are delayed,” says Molebatsi. “Sometimes it is weather from the supplier side or other factors outside of our control. At the same time, customers have placed pre-orders and they are excited to receive their items.”

Another operational hurdle comes from demand itself. Popular styles can quickly create what warehouse teams call “broken size curves”, where certain sizes sell out faster than others.

“That is when attention to detail really matters. You have to stay organised and plan properly so that stock is managed in the best possible way.”

As BooYaa continues to grow, maintaining efficiency requires clear systems and disciplined processes. For Molebatsi, planning is everything.

“When we receive stock, we first confirm what styles we are expecting and how many cartons have arrived. Then we compare the packing list with the items delivered. As soon as the stock is captured and pulled into inventory, we unpack it to the shelves.”

It is a methodical process but one that ensures accuracy across the entire operation.

Adaptability also plays a key role in keeping the warehouse running smoothly. According to Molebatsi, success often comes down to preparation long before a product launch or delivery day.

“It is important to have a concept and plan properly before execution. If you only start planning when it is time to execute, delays will happen.”

Beyond systems and logistics, the human side of the operation is what motivates him most.

“The motivation comes from learning every day. Understanding fabrics, different compositions, branding methods, and making sure our clients stay happy while we meet our deadlines.”

His approach to leadership is simple: transparency, dedication, and the willingness to go the extra mile.

“There is a big difference between being dedicated and just going to work,” he says. “At BooYaa Golf, we focus on the wins. We do not focus on titles.”

That team-first mindset runs throughout the business.

From the warehouse assistants and store managers to the marketing team, coordinators, directors and support staff, Molebatsi believes BooYaa’s strength lies in everyone moving in the same direction.

“What helps me succeed as a warehouse manager is the team I work with,” he says. “We move step by step together with the same goal.”

Looking ahead, he is optimistic about the future.

“The most exciting part about BooYaa Golf is the team I am working with. When everyone steps forward in the same direction, the future looks bright. As a team, we will win.”

For customers browsing the latest drop or receiving a BooYaa parcel at their door, the warehouse might remain unseen. But behind every delivery is a team making sure the details are right.

Because long before the shirt hits the fairway, the real work has already begun.
