The 2025 Cape Town Disabled Open brought the All Abilities Golf Tour season to a powerful close. Golfers with physical disabilities and deaf golfers from across South Africa, together with international competitors, took on firm greens and some of the strongest winds of the year at King David Mowbray Golf Club.

As the final AAGT event of 2025, the tournament carried extra significance with season-long honours on the line and the crowning of our season’s Order of Merit champions.

Across three days of championship golf, development activities and sponsor engagement, the event highlighted SADGA’s commitment to inclusivity, excellence and opportunity.

Sunday’s opening round began in heavy wind that immediately tested precision and patience. Issa Nlareb a amang, originally from Cameroon and now based in France, a double leg amputee, produced the standout round of the tournament. He carded one-under par to lead the Gross division and set the standard for the week, with Daniël Slabbert only three shots back heading into the second round.

The wind returned on Monday and again made every fairway and green a challenge. Despite the conditions, Issa held his nerve, completed a wire to wire victory and was crowned the 2025 Cape Town Disabled Open Overall Gross Champion.

“The City of Cape Town is honoured to stand alongside South African Disabled Golf in hosting the Cape Town Disabled Golf Tournament. This prestigious event not only highlights the extraordinary skill and determination of athletes living with disabilities but also reflects our shared commitment to inclusivity, empowerment and community spirit.

"As a city, we are proud to provide our support for a tournament that inspires resilience and celebrates the unifying power of sport. Disabled golf continues to break barriers and open opportunities, and Cape Town is privileged to serve as the stage for this remarkable showcase of talent.

"We commend South African Disabled Golf for their dedication and vision in creating platforms that uplift athletes and strengthen communities. The City looks forward to continuing this partnership and to witnessing the growth of disabled golf in South Africa,” said City of Cape Town Representative, Nazeem Abrahams.
