Cricket South Africa (CSA) will be sending a 7-player squad to participate in the Hong Kong International Sixes 2024 which will be played from 1-3 November at the Kowloon Cricket Club, Hong Kong.
The tournament which has not been played since 2017 will see defending champions South Africa and 11 other teams, participate in this six-a-side cricket showcase.
Leading the charge is Hollywoodbets Dolphins’ JJ Smuts, an all-rounder renowned for his aggressive batting style, who will be pivotal in navigating the team's tactics.
Complementing him is Northern Cape Heat’s Modiri Litheko, an emerging wicketkeeper-batsman known for his quick reflexes and adaptability in short format cricket.
DP World Lions Evan Jones joins the batting lineup, while Knights’ Jacques Snyman comes on board as a batting all-rounder.
Momentum Multiply Titans’ bowler Matthew Boast is set to challenge opponents, alongside Limpopo Impala’s pace bowler Don Radebe, whose all-round skills enhance the team's depth.
Rounding out the squad is Knights’ Aubrey Swanepoel, a first-class cricketer with experience in the Hong Kong Sixes.
The team is being coached by SA Under-19 and Emerging Academy Head Coach Malibongwe Maketa.
Together, this team combines leadership with talent, positioning them for a competitive edge on the international stage and places them in good stead to defend the title.
The squad will arrive in Hong Kong on 30 October.
