Flash Sponsorship, the driving force behind a string of landmark South African sponsorship deals, has been appointed by Netball South Africa as its non-exclusive commercial agency, tasked with securing and growing the federation’s sponsorship portfolio.

Flash Sponsorship brings a formidable track record to the table. In the past 12 months alone, the agency has brokered six new sponsors for Cricket South Africa; ten new sponsors and budget-relieving suppliers for the Comrades Marathon; renewed a sponsor for Team South Africa on the road to LA28.

“Netball South Africa represents exactly the kind of opportunity we love – a sport with a formalised pathway from Development to School to University to Club to National Team and International competitions – and this represents excellent commercial potential for likeminded brands. We are thrilled to be appointed and look forward to delivering meaningful sponsorships that benefit the federation and the sport It’s all to play for,” said Gill Fraser, Sales Director, Flash Sponsorship.

The appointment comes at a pivotal moment in the growth in popularity of the sport and this is reflected in the latest audience research. When South Africa hosted the Netball World Cup in Cape Town in 2023, the tournament drew a live linear TV audience of 14.9-million – more than double the viewership of the previous edition – with South Africa and the broader Pan-African audience accounting for 78% of total global viewership. Domestically, the Telkom Netball League expanded to 16 teams in 2024, with the Netball SA President noting the “growing popularity and competitiveness of netball” as a driving force behind the expansion. The SPAR Proteas continue to climb the World Netball Rankings, cementing South Africa’s place among the sport’s global elite.

“We are delighted to welcome Flash Sponsorship on board. Their deep expertise in the South African sports market and their recent track record of closing significant commercial deals make them the ideal partner to help Netball South Africa reach its full commercial potential. This is an exciting new chapter for our federation,” said Adam Brooke, CEO Netball South Africa.
