Key statistics

• The Hollywoodbets Sharks are the first South African club to qualify for an EPCR semi-final match

• Peceli Yato and Pita Gus Sowakula (ASM Clermont Auvergne) were the only teammates to score two tries apiece in last weekend’s quarter-finals.

• Bundee Aki (Connacht Rugby) made as many carries as any other player at the weekend - a total of 15, a round-high seven of which were dominant - and beat the most defenders (nine).

• Stephen Varney of Gloucester Rugby made 253 more kick-in-play metres than any other player at the weekend, a total of 602. Three of his 21 kicks in play were retained, including the only 50/22 of the quarter-finals.

• Michele Lamaro (Benetton Rugby) made as many dominant tackles as any other player at the weekend (three).

• In his 24 minutes off the bench, Sebastien Bezy (ASM Clermont Auvergne) became the only player in the quarter-finals to assist two tries.
